Gülnara Aziz was born in the Republic of Uzbekistan. She received her first music lessons from her composer father, Fattah Nazarov. She continued her education at the Central Music School affiliated with the Moscow State Conservatory. At the age of 11, she performed Fattah Nazarov’s Piano Concerto with the Symphony Orchestra conducted by Veronika Dudarova at the Kremlin Palace. She graduated from the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory and pursued her doctorate under the guidance of Prof. Alexey Nasedkin at the same institution. During her conservatory years, she shared the stage with famous artists like Yury Bashmet and Mikhail Pletnev.

Starting from 1979, she worked as a lecturer in Uzbekistan. In addition to various recitals, she performed piano concertos by composers such as Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, and Prokofiev with symphony orchestras and made radio recordings. She served as the soloist of the Uzbekistan State Philharmonic from 1979 to 1987 and worked as an associate professor at the Tashkent State Conservatory during the same period. She toured to countries such as Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Georgia, and Hungary.

From 1994 to 2016, she worked as a lecturer at the Bilkent University Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, Piano Department. In 2016, she started her position at Ankara University State Conservatory in the instrumental department and was awarded the title of Professor in 2017. Gülnara Aziz, in addition to being a successful educator in the field of piano, continues her career with solo and chamber music concerts. Many of her students, whom she has trained in piano, have won awards in national and international competitions.
